On August 6th, 2018, Colombia’s Labour Ministry published a decree implementing the sixth edition of the UN’s Globally Harmonised System (GHS) of classification and labelling of chemicals. ‘Decree 1496’ covers the manufacture, import, storage, transportation, distribution, marketing and use of chemical substances and mixtures detailing the responsibilities of each actor in the chemicals supply chain.

A new draft law, the “Regulation on the Evaluation and Control of Chemical Substances,” has been released for public consultation by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE).

The revised K-REACH regulation has introduced pre-notification (similar to pre-registration under EU-REACH). The pre-notification window is from 1 January to 30 June 2019.

Following the New Chemical Decree, Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade launched a new electronic declaration system called the National Single Window portal.

On 23rd December 2017, the KKDIK (Turkish REACH) 3 year pre-registration period will begin. Unlike EU REACH, this will not be followed by a phased tonnage and hazard-based registration period, but a single 3 year period in which all substances manufactured or imported in quantities above 1 tonne per annum will require registration.
