Germany AwSV List of published WGK classifications updated

On 19 July 2023, the German Ordinance on Facilities Handling Substances That Are Hazardous to Water (AwSV) List of published water hazard class (WGK) classifications was updated. The following substances were newly assigned a WGK:

1. Dioctyltin bis-(thioglycolic acid 2-ethyl-1-hexyl ester)

   WGK 3 (highly hazardous to water)

2. Monooctyltin tris-(thioglycolic acid 2-ethyl-1-hexyl ester), content of Dioctyltin bis-(thioglycolic acid 2-ethyl-1-hexyl ester) and 2-ethylhexyl mercaptoacetate < 0.2 % regarding the individual substance

   WGK 1 (slightly hazardous to water)

3. Noble gases, stable isotopes

   WGK nwg (non-hazardous to water)

4. Boric acid, potassium salts

   WGK 1 (slightly hazardous to water)

5. Hexanedioic acid, polymer with 1,2-propanediol, acetate (average MW 2200 g/mol)

   WGK nwg (non-hazardous to water)

6. Hexanedioic acid, polymer with 1,2-propanediol, octyl ester (average MW 5500 g/mol)

   WGK nwg (non-hazardous to water)

7. Fatty acids, C16-18 and C18-unsatd., mixed esters with adipic acid and trimethylolpropane

   WGK 1 (slightly hazardous to water)

8. Acetic Acid, reaction products with 1-[[2-[[2-[[2-[(2-aminoethyl)amino]ethyl]amino]ethyl]amino]ethyl]amino]-3-phenoxy-2-propanol, bisphenol A diglycidyl ether (average MW 1600 g/mol)

   WGK 2 (obviously hazardous to water)
