Germany AwSV List of published WGK classifications updated

On 27 January 2023, the German Ordinance on Facilities Handling Substances That Are Hazardous to Water (AwSV) List of published water hazard class (WGK) classifications was updated. The following substances were newly assigned a WGK:

1. Poly[oxy(methyl-1,2-ethanediyl)], α-[[[3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl]amino]carbonyl]-ω-[[[[3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl]amino]carbonyl]oxy]- (average molecular weight 16800 g/mol), residual Methanol ≤ 0,5%

   WGK 1 (slightly hazardous to water)

2. 2-Ethylhexanoic acid, compound with 2-Aminoethanol

   WGK 1 (slightly hazardous to water)

3. 2-Propenoic acid, polymer with ethene, dimethyl-(2-hydroxyethyl)ammonium salt (average MW 13300 g/mol)

   WGK 2 (obviously hazardous to water)

4. Isotridecanol, butoxylated, BO 22 (average molar weight 1900 g/mol)

   WGK 1 (slightly hazardous to water)

5. Polymer with Phenyloxirane and Ethylenoxide, Ether with Glycerine (3:1) (average MW 3600 g/mol)

   WGK 1 (slightly hazardous to water)

6. Reaction mass of S-(6-((3-(triethoxysilyl)propyl)thio)hexyl)ethylthioester and Hexamethylen-1,6-dithio-bis((3-triethoxysilyl) propane)

   WGK 2 (obviously hazardous to water)

7. 1,3-Propanediol, 2-ethyl-2-(hydroxymethyl)-, polymer with 1,3-bis(isocyanatomethyl)cyclohexane and α-hydro-ω-hydroxypoly(oxy-1,4-butanediyl), 2-[(1,1-dimethylethyl)amino]ethyl methacrylate-blocked (average MW 4800 g/mol)

   WGK 1 (slightly hazardous to water)

8. Oxirane, 2-decyl-, polymer with 2-methyloxirane, monotetradecyl ether (average MW 6200 g/mol)

   WGK 2 (obviously hazardous to water)

9. Fatty acids, linear and branched, saturated and unsaturated, Compounds with 2,2'-Iminodiethanol

   WGK 2 (obviously hazardous to water)
