UK REACH – Current Status and Future Challenges

  • Yordas Group Lancaster Environment Centre LA1 4YQ United Kingdom (map)

UK-REACH has been in force for over a year, and the initial deadlines for the transitional arrangements of ‘Grandfathering’ and ‘Downstream User Import Notification (DUIN)’ have passed, although the functionality in complying with UK REACH for submitting a DUIN remains open.

In December 2021, an open letter from the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs was published. Addressed to the Chemical Industries Association, the letter stated that the government is considering pushing back the Registration deadlines an additional 2 years and exploring a new model for transitional registrations.
