In May 2025, Cradle-ALP will be hosting a Life-Cycle Assessment workshop led by Yordas Group’s Cathrin Caillau.

What is Cradle-ALP?

Cradle-ALP supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Austria, Italy, France, Slovenia, and Switzerland in developing sustainable business models based on the circular economy principle . This workshop demonstrates how LCA helps make the environmental impacts of products transparent, thus laying the foundation for circular, climate-friendly innovations. 

The Cradle-ALP project is co-funded by the European Union as part of the Interreg Alpine Space Programme.

About the Workshop

Led by Cathrin Cailliau, LCA expert at the Yordas Group , participants will receive a thorough overview of: 

  • Basics of Life Cycle Assessment 

  • The four phases of an LCA (goal definition, life cycle inventory, impact assessment, interpretation) 

  • Important standards & guidelines (ISO 14040/44) 

  • Data requirements & practical challenges 

  • Linking LCA with circular economy and ecodesign 

  • Legal framework & communication of results

About Cathrin

Cathrin Cailliau is a Science Communication specialist at Yordas Germany. She has worked both as a communicator and sustainability researcher – first at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich and then at the Nuremberg Institute of Technology. She holds an M.Sc. in Global Change Ecology and a B.A. in English/American studies and Geography. Currently, she is leading the communication, dissemination and stakeholder engagement activities of the EU research projects SUNSHINE and IMPROVE, and supporting CHARISMA and SbD4Nano.
