Managing REACH Registrations for a Japanese Multinational

The Challenge

Since 2008, companies have required local legal representation in Europe to comply with their REACH registration requirements.

Yordas has acted as the only representative for over 50 Japanese multinational chemical companies.

Our Solution

For a strategic client who has contracted Yordas to act as only representative since 2008, Yordas originally submitted over 80 pre-registrations and during the 8 year registration period culminating in REACH2018, converted over these to ~45 full registrations, including 9 leads.

Work completed by Yordas included:

  • Regulatory impact assessments and compliance strategies

  • Sameness and substance characterisation

  • Literature search and data gap analysis

  • Development of integrated testing and assessment strategies

  • Commissioning, management and interpretation of endpoint studies

  • Exposure and risk assessment

  • IUCLID dossier preparation and submission

Yordas continues to provide ongoing management of these REACH registrations to address evaluations (dossier, substance and testing proposals) and ensure the dossiers are kept up to date.

Benefits for the Client

Yordas met the client’s needs by offering a “one stop shop” to meet and maintain their EU REACH requirements. Over the last 12 years, Yordas was able to provide strategic guidance and combine this with scientific, technical and regulatory services to ensure their £3M (estimated) investment in REACH, offered value for money and facilitated uninterrupted access to the European market.
