Integrated Management System for Quality and GMP Compliance

Delivering Management System and Auditing Services for a UK-based Cosmetics Manufacturer

Challenge

The client’s customers requested that they demonstrate that their products are manufactured according to good manufacturing practices (GMP - ISO 22716) and quality standards (ISO 9001). Gaining certification was a time-sensitive matter for the client to ensure continuity of their service. Due to the nature of the products and manufacturing processes, establishing such a management system required specific scientific and technical knowledge related not only to management systems but also to manufacturing practices and an understanding of cosmetics and biocides regulations.

The Client

A manufacturer and provider of cleaning and hygiene products based in the United Kingdom.

Our Solution

Our multidisciplinary team of experts first led a scoping workshop with the client's management team and key employees to assess the current processes in place at the company against the ISO requirements. Following this workshop, Yordas developed a detailed gap analysis report and work plan to implement an integrated management system (IMS in line with current industry best practices.

We developed all documentation required to achieve ISO certification, including a quality manual, quality policy, 34 procedures and 28 templates. All documentation was tailored to meet client needs and aligned with existing systems - the software currently in use and the processes already in place - to prevent unnecessary measures in learning new systems.

Through our extensive network of contacts in this area, our team also recommended a certification body to certify their system at short notice to meet their strict deadlines.

Benefits for the Client

The client successfully achieved the ISO 9001 certification within 6 months of commencing the project. The comprehensive and tailored management system allowed the client to meet their customer requirements and continue growing their business and differentiate themselves in the market. In the longer term, their newly established IMS will manage product quality risks, streamline processes, and improve customer satisfaction, helping to reduce costs, and support company quality goals.
