New Zealand Workplace exposure standards and biological exposure indices updated

On 17 October 2023, the 14th edition of the Workplace exposure standards and biological exposure indices was published. The following substances were added to the list:

1. Aluminium metal dust and insoluble compounds (including pyro powders, aluminium oxide and metal fumes) (as Al)

2. Tin dust, tin oxides, and inorganic compounds (except SnH4 and In2O5Sn) as Sn

3. Tin, organic compounds including mono- and dimethyltin and n-butyltin (not otherwise classified), as Sn

Limits for 57 substances were updated. The following substances were deleted:

1. α-Alumina

2. Aluminium oxide (α-Alumina)

3. Aluminium, Metal dust (as Al)

4. Aluminium, Alkyls (not otherwise classified) (as Al)

5. Aluminium, Pyro powders (as Al)

6. Aluminium, Soluble salts (as Al)

7. Aluminium, Welding fumes (as Al)

8. Chromyl chloride

9. Tin, metal

10. Tin, Oxide and inorganic compounds, except SnH4, as Sn

11. Tin, Organic compounds, as Sn
