Germany AwSV List of published WGK classifications updated

On 4 October 2023, the German Ordinance on Facilities Handling Substances That Are Hazardous to Water (AwSV) List of published water hazard class (WGK) classifications was updated. The following substances were newly assigned a WGK:

  1. 3-methylpyrazole

    WGK 2 (obviously hazardous to water)

  2. Octadecane

    WGK 1 (slightly hazardous to water)

  3. Waxes and Waxy substances, rice bran, oxidized, and its sodium and calcium salts

    WGK 1 (slightly hazardous to water)

  4. Reaction products of bis(4-methylpentan-2-yl)dithiophosphoric acid with phosphorus oxide, propylene oxide and amines, C12-14-alkyl (branched)

    WGK 2 (obviously hazardous to water)

  5. Formaldehyde, polymer with 2-methyloxirane, nonylphenol and oxirane, residual formaldehyde < 0,1%, ethylene oxide < 0,1%, methyloxirane < 0,1% and nonylphenols < 3% (average MW 8200 g/mol)

    WGK 2 (obviously hazardous to water)

  6. Fatty acids C16-18 and C18-unsaturated, compounds with (Z)-Octadec-9-enylamine

    WGK 2 (obviously hazardous to water)
