Germany AwSV List of published WGK classifications updated

On 13 June 2023, the German Ordinance on Facilities Handling Substances That Are Hazardous to Water (AwSV) List of published water hazard class (WGK) classifications was updated. The following substances were newly assigned a WGK:

1. Trichlorooctylstannane

   WGK 3 (highly hazardous to water)

2. Alcohols, ethoxylated and propoxylated with a carbon chain length between ≥ C12 and < C16 and a totaled ethoxylation and propoxylation degree EO + PO < 15

   WGK 2 (obviously hazardous to water)

3. 2-(2H-benzotriazol-2-yl)-p-cresol

   WGK 2 (obviously hazardous to water)

4. Benzyltoluene

   WGK 3 (highly hazardous to water)

5. Alcohols, ethoxylated and propoxylated with a carbon chain length between ≥ C16 and C18

   WGK 1 (slightly hazardous to water)

6. Starch, polymer with butyl 2-propenoate, ethenylbenzene and 2-propenoic acid, graft (average MW 8000 g/mol)

   WGK 1 (slightly hazardous to water)
