11th recommendation for inclusion in the Authorisation List

On 12 April 2023, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) published its eleventh recommendation for inclusion in the Authorisation List (Annex XIV of REACH), which lists the following substances:

  1. 2-(4-tert-butylbenzyl)propionaldehyde and its individual stereoisomers

  2. 2-benzyl-2-dimethylamino-4'-morpholinobutyrophenone

  3. 2-methyl-1-(4-methylthiophenyl)-2-morpholinopropan-1-one

  4. Diisohexyl phthalate

  5. Ethylenediamine

  6. Glutaral

  7. Lead

  8. Orthoboric acid, sodium salt

Substances on the Authorisation List cannot be placed on the market or used after their so-called ‘sunset date’, unless the company has been granted an Authorisation.

The final decision on the inclusion and sunset dates of these 8 substances in Annex XIV will be taken by the European Commission in collaboration with Member States and the European Parliament.
