Germany AwSV List of published WGK classifications updated

On 11 April 2023, the German Ordinance on Facilities Handling Substances That Are Hazardous to Water (AwSV) List of published water hazard class (WGK) classifications was updated. The following substances were newly assigned a WGK:

1. 1,2-Ethanediamine, polymer with 2,4-diisocyanato-1-methylbenzene and 2-methyloxirane (average MW 1600 g/mol)

   WGK 1 (slightly hazardous to water)

2. 3-(3-hydroxypropyl)oxazolidin-2-one

   WGK 1 (slightly hazardous to water)

3. 1H-Imidazolium, 3-ethyl-1-methyl-, methanesulfonate (1:1)

   WGK 1 (slightly hazardous to water)

4. Fatty acids, tall-oil, reaction products with diethylenetriamine

   WGK 1 (slightly hazardous to water)

5. Germanium tetrachloride

   WGK 3 (highly hazardous to water)

6. Isopropyl-β-D-thiogalactopyranoside

   WGK 1 (slightly hazardous to water)

7. Hexanedioic acid, polymer with 1,4-butanediol and 2,2-dimethyl-1,3-propanediol, isononyl ester (average MW 4800-6600 g/mol)

   WGK nwg (non-hazardous to water)

8. Alcohol, C12-13, ethoxylated, Phosphate, compound with 2-Aminoethanol, EO 7

   WGK 1 (slightly hazardous to water)

9. Oleic acid, ethoxylated, Phosphate, compound with 2-Aminoethanol, EO 4

   WGK 2 (obviously hazardous to water)

10. Reaction mass of 2-(3a,4,5,6,7,7a-hexahydro-1H-4,7-methanoinden-5-yloxy)ethyl acrylate and 2-(3a,4,5,6,7,7a-hexahydro-1H-4,7-methanoinden-6-yloxy)ethyl acrylate

    WGK 2 (obviously hazardous to water)

11. 2-Phenyl-2-propanol

    WGK 1 (slightly hazardous to water)

12. Reaction mass of (9-acetoxy-3,8,10-triethyl-7,8,10-trimethyl-1,5-dioxa-9-azaspiro[5.5]undec-3-yl)methyl palmitate and (9-acetoxy-3,8,10-triethyl-7,8,10-trimethyl-1,5-dioxa-9-azaspiro[5.5]undec-3-yl)methyl stearate
