2 Authorisations granted for 4-tert-OPnEO

On 24 February 2023, the European Commission granted 2 Authorisations for the following substance:

1. 4-(1,1,3,3-Tetra methylbutyl)phenol, ethoxylated (4-tert-OPnEO)

The Authorisations are held by Pfizer Ireland Pharmaceuticals and concern 2 Authorised uses:

1. Authorisation number REACH/23/7/0 approves the use of 4-tert-OPnEO as a surfactant in the manufacture of biopharmaceuticals, as a processing aid in viral inactivation and associated purification processes.

2. Authorisation number REACH/23/7/1 approves the use of 4-tert-OPnEO as a surfactant in the manufacture of biopharmaceuticals for filter cleaning in viral inactivation processes.
