Singapore Environmental Protection and Management Regulations updated

The following substances have been added to the Hazardous Substances Schedule of the Singapore Environmental Protection and Management (Hazardous Substances) Regulations as per S 82/2023:

  1. 2,2-Diphenyl-2-hydroxyacetic acid

  2. Alkyl (Me, Et, n-Pr or i-Pr) phosphonyldifluorides

  3. Amiton

  4. 3-Quinuclidinyl benzilate

  5. Carbamates (quaternaries and bisquaternaries of dimethylcarbamoyloxypyridines)

  6. Chemicals, except for those listed in Schedule 1 of the Annex on Chemicals of the Chemical Weapons Convention, containing a phosphorus atom to which is bonded one methyl, ethyl or propyl (normal or iso) group but not further carbon atoms

  7. Chlorosarin

  8. Chlorosoman

  9. Cyanogen chloride

  10. Dialkyl (Me, Et, n-Pr or i-Pr) N,N-dialkyl (Me, Et, n-Pr or i-Pr)-phosphoramidates

  11. Diethyl phosphite

  12. Lewisites

  13. Methyl-(bis(diethylamino)methylene)phosphonamidofluoridate

  14. N,N-Dialkyl (Me, Et, n-Pr or i-Pr) aminoethane-2-thiols and corresponding protonated salts

  15. N,N-Dialkyl (Me, Et, n-Pr or i-Pr) aminoethyl-2-chlorides and corresponding protonated salts

  16. Nitrogen mustards

  17. O-Alkyl (≤C10, incl. cycloalkyl) alkyl (Me, Et, n-Pr or i-Pr)-phosphonofluoridates

  18. O-alkyl (H or ≤C10, incl. cycloalkyl) N-(1-(dialkyl(≤C10, incl. cycloalkyl)amino))alkylidene(H or ≤C10, incl. cycloalkyl) phosphoramidofluoridates and corresponding alkylated or protonated salts

  19. O-Alkyl (H or ≤C10, incl. cycloalkyl) O-2-dialkyl (Me, Et, n-Pr or i-Pr)-aminoethyl alkyl (Me, Et, n-Pr or i-Pr) phosphonites and corresponding alkylated or protonated salts

  20. O-Alkyl (H or ≤C10, incl. cycloalkyl) S-2-dialkyl (Me, Et, n-Pr or i-Pr)-aminoethyl alkyl (Me, Et, n-Pr or i-Pr) phosphonothiolates and corresponding alkylated or protonated salts

The amendment will come into operation on 21 August 2023.
