Germany AwSV List of published WGK classifications updated

On 16 February 2023, the German Ordinance on Facilities Handling Substances That Are Hazardous to Water (AwSV) List of published water hazard class (WGK) classifications was updated. The following substances were newly assigned a WGK:

  1. Phosphoric acid, mono and di(2-ethylhexyl) esters, including sodium, potassium and ammonium salts

    WGK 1 (slightly hazardous to water)

  2. Phenol, ethoxylated, Phosphate, Potassium salt

    WGK 1 (slightly hazardous to water)

  3. Reaction products of α,α',α'',α'''-[1,6-Hexanediylbis(nitrilodi-2,1-ethanediyl)]tetrakis[ω-hydroxypoly(oxy-1,2-ethanediyl)] and Sulfuric acid, dimethyl ester (average MW ≥ 4000 g/mol)

    WGK 1 (slightly hazardous to water)

  4. Oleic acid, ethoxylated, carboxymethylated, compound with 2-Aminoethanol, EO 9

    WGK 2 (obviously hazardous to water)

  5. Octanol, ethoxylated, carboxymethylated, compound with 2-Aminoethanol, EO 8

    WGK 2 (obviously hazardous to water)

  6. Polymer with 4,4'-Methylenediphenyl diisocyanate, 1,2-Ethanediol and Fatty acids, C18-unsaturated dimers, hydrogenated (average MW 3900 g/mol)

    WGK 1 (slightly hazardous to water)
