ASEAN Cosmetics Directive Annexes II, III, IV, VI, and VII amended

On 23 December 2022, updates to the Annexes of the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) Cosmetics Directive were adopted at the 36th ASEAN Cosmetic Committee (ACC) meeting.

42 substances were added to Annex II, part 1.

The following substances were amended in Annex III, part 1:

  1. Benzoic acid, 2-hydroxy-

  2. 1-(4-Chlorophenoxy)- 1-(imidazol-1-yl)-3,3- dimethylbutan-2-one

  3. Diphenyl(2,4,6- trimethylbenzoyl) phosphine oxide

  4. Titanium dioxide in powder form containing 1% or more of particles with aerodynamic diameter ≤10 μm

  5. 1,3-Dihydroxy- 2-propanone

The following substance was amended in Annex IV, part 1 and Annex VII:

  1. Titanium dioxide in powder form containing 1% or more of particles with aerodynamic diameter ≤10 μm

The following substances were amended in Annex VI:

  1. Salicylic acid and its salts

  2. 1-(4-Chlorophenoxy)- 1-(imidazol-1-yl)-3,3- dimethylbutan-2-one

  3. 4-(3-ethoxy-4-hydroxyphenyl)butan-2-one
