2 Authorisations granted for Chromium trioxide

On 23 September 2022, the European Commission granted 2 Authorisations for the following substance:

1. Chromium trioxide

The Authorisations are held by Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH and concern 2 Authorised uses:

1. Authorisation number REACH/22/32/0 approves the use of Chromium trioxide in functional chrome plating in closed reactor systems for the establishment of a 'conventional' hard chrome coating on working rolls applied in the steel industry for the pre-manufacturing of cold-rolled, high-quality textured sheet metal

2. Authorisation number REACH/22/32/1 approves the use of Chromium trioxide in Pretex® functional chrome plating in closed reactor systems for the establishment of adjustable hemispherical surface structures on working rolls applied in the steel industry for the manufacture of cold-rolled, high quality textured sheet metal
