Dissemination of LCA Results

Environmental Communication & Labelling

Whitepaper by Damon Waterworth and Rucha Kolte at Yordas Group

As consumers become increasingly mindful of the environmental challenges we face, they become motivated to use their purchasing power to demand more environmentally friendly products. Those that recognise this drive for corporate sustainability can achieve a competitive advantage by fully engaging their supply chains to accurately assess, transparently report, and continually improve the environmental footprint of their products; thus, meeting consumer expectations.

Life cycle assessment (LCA) is an internationally recognised decision support tool that quantifies and communicates the environmental impacts of goods on the market. Moreover, LCA forms the basis for global ‘eco-labelling’ schemes that continue to increase in popularity.

In this whitepaper, we provide an overview of communication methods, reporting approaches and obligations in light of data confidentiality concerns. In addition, we introduce the eco-labelling types and certification process.
