MoE Support SMEs to meet the 2021 Registration Deadline

The Korean Ministry of Environment (MoE ) published a list of 82 substances whose registrants are small and medium sized Enterprises SMEs and the registration needs to be completed before 2021. MoE is going to support the SMEs through a program assisting with the following aspects:

●      consortium formation;

●      election of a lead registrant;

●      substance identification and data gap analysis;

●      methods for obtaining data;

●      preparation of registration dossiers and chemical safety report (CSR)

 

GHS list update

National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER) updated GHS classification list and the key changes are as follows:

●      13 toxic chemical substances and their detailed information are included (Nos.  2020-1-957~2020-1-969, classification information, pictograms, signal words, hazard statements, M factors and UN No.) The hazards of the substances are identified during their K-REACH registration and the substance will remain as New Substances under K-REACH.

●      Information on 4 toxic substances have been updated (they have been given No. 97-1-167, 2017-1-772, 2018-1-831, 2018-1-844)
