On 5 January 2024, the 21st Adaptation to Technical Progress (ATP) to Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 on the classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures (CLP) was published in the Official Journal of the European Union.

Commission Regulation (EU) 2024/197 primarily updates the CLP Regulation with recently agreed harmonised classifications. 24 substances (already classified) had their harmonised classifications updated while 28 substances (previously not classified) were assigned new harmonised classifications.

Suppliers must, before 1 September 2025, revise the labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures in line with the new harmonised classifications.
