2 Authorisations granted for 4-tert-OPnEO

On 11 January 2023, the European Commission granted 16 Authorisations for the following substance:

  1. 4-(1,1,3,3-Tetra methylbutyl)phenol, ethoxylated (4-tert-OPnEO)

The Authorisations are held by Swedish Orphan Biovitrum AB and concern 2 Authorised uses:

  1. Authorisation number REACH/22/46/0 approves the use of 4-tert-OPnEO as a surfactant for virus inactivation in manufacture of biopharmaceuticals.

  2. Authorisation number REACH/22/46/1 approves the use of 4-tert-OPnEO as a surfactant for post-production cleaning in manufacture of biopharmaceuticals.
