Canada CEPA

Meeting your requirements under CEPA

The Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA), amended in 1999, intends to protect the environment, and the health and well-being of Canadians. The Act regulates the assessment and management of chemical substances with aim to prevent pollution and to address potentially dangerous chemical substances in a sustainable way. Chemical substances, animate substances such as micro-organisms, polymers and biopolymers are all regulated under CEPA.

Yordas is experienced in working with CEPA and can help you meet compliance.

Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System

The Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) is Canada’s national hazard communication standard. In 2015, WHMIS was amended to incorporate the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals. Our expert team can advise you on Safety Data Sheets and a full range of classification labelling and packaging requirements so that you can manage your hazard communications up and down the supply chain in Canada. Our team also offers a customised translation service as safety data sheets and labels are required to be in both English and French.
